FLINTA Solstice

FOR THE FEMMES, THE TRANS, AND THE QUEERS 𝐋𝐔𝐍𝐀 𝐁𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬, 𝐃𝐲𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐃𝐢𝐩 and 𝐊𝐚𝐲𝐳𝐚𝐫 come together to bring you a night of Winter FLINTA Solstice mischief in the Sub Club basement <3 With Music, Performance Art, and Installations to recontextualise the club space. We’re ecstatic to welcome you to dance and play till sunrise for the longest night of the year. We’re so excited to be guided by the sounds of both 𝐆𝐞𝐨 and 𝐈𝐕𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐀, who will be joining us for their debut LUNA Blessings performances. Local icon and queen of deep, progressive sounds, 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐥ú will be providing us with a long-overdue solo set, before the dynamic duo that is 𝐁𝐚𝐛𝐲 𝐆 and 𝐓𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨 will get us sweating. Drawing things to a close as dawn comes will be your LUNA Blessings high priestesses, 𝐃𝐉 𝐋𝐮𝐯 𝐘𝐨𝐮 and Hannah D. Now, you all just watch out because our performers on this magical night will have you in a trance! The one and only, 𝐇𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐡𝐡𝐜𝐡𝐢 will transform the space, moulding clay and sipping on tea, playfully reimagining Chinese mythology. Together, duo of dreams, 𝐀𝐳𝐢𝐭𝐚 𝐍𝐚𝐧 𝐓𝐢𝐞 and 𝐄𝐜𝐞 𝐘𝐚𝐯𝐮𝐳 will dance among glass installations, exploring duality, transformation and ritual, resistance and renewal. The rituals continue with the renowned 𝐄𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 embodying a spirit that is born, creaturesque and erratic, that sheds and develops, until it’s full realisation of a soft wisp of an entity. Between all these moments, when your dancing feet may feel a little tired, visionary Lucy Eidelson’s ‘𝐀𝐱𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐭𝐥𝐬’ will emerge, playfully roving around the space, becoming and unbecoming, shifting, healing and regenerating. And finally, in the very depth of the solstice, the electric 𝐄𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐚 𝐌𝐜𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲 will be ready to go... only to find a loose tooth… like a Grimm's brothers fairytale, they take us on their journey of their ‘night out’. 𝐃𝐲𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐃𝐢𝐩 has got the most comfy, ethereal meet-cute space ready and waiting for you! Instead of their usual swims and pool game nights, 𝐓𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐫, founder of 𝐃𝐲𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐃𝐢𝐩 and all-star artists, (𝐒𝐦𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐲 and 𝐉𝐮𝐝𝐞 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫 have created an earthy, dreamy world. Within this world, you are invited to sit, suspended, as if swimming in the sky underneath a web-like tree that you can plant your wishes for this solstice, wishing on the lighter days to come as tiny horses gallivant and frolic for good luck! Throughout the Subclub dancefloor, 𝐊𝐚𝐲𝐳𝐚𝐫 will have us transported into different realms with their lighting extravaganza, whilst 𝐋𝐮𝐱 is conjuring up rich and ingenious textures and shapes for us all to explore all night long.
